Power Plants

Power plants are facilities designed to generate electricity by converting various forms of energy into electrical power.

Types of power plants include:

• Thermal Power Plants: Use heat from burning fuels (coal, Crude oil) to produce steam that drives turbines.

• Hydroelectric Plants: Utilize the energy of flowing water to generate electricity.

• Gas Turbines: operate on the Brayton cycle, which involves compressing air, mixing it with fuel, and igniting the mixture. The high-temperature, high-pressure gases produced from combustion are expanded through a turbine, which drives a generator or mechanical load.

• Renewable Energy Plants: Harness natural resources like wind, solar, or geothermal energy to generate power.

• Operational Components: Include turbines, generators, transformers, and control systems that work together to produce and distribute electricity.
